Levittown 3/19 Wurlitzer Hybrid

Experience the sound of the Theatre Pipe Organ

Shean Residence,
Levittown, PA

The owners of this 3/19 Mighty Wurlitzer, installed in a typical Levitt house in Levittown Pennsylvania, were renowned for their gracious hospitality, and their home was always filled with music. Since 1958 Jim Shean had been collecting sets of pipes and consoles. Over the years the organ grew to 19 ranks. Several years ago a new 3 manual Wurlitzer console from the California Theatre in San Diego was installed, along with a new Emutek solid state relay. As you entered the front door of the home you were treated to an immediate view of the gleaming white and gold three manual console. The pipes were uniquely installed on the second floor of the house, speaking through two grilles in the living room ceiling, and surrounding you with magnificent sound. Sound also floated down the stairwell where the toy counter was located. A piano and a spectacular vibraphone in the dining room topped off the organ ensemble. A separate grand piano made for fun organ and piano duets.

This organ was removed and sold, and the house sold when the owners became unable to maintain them.
