As Installed in the Bagdad Theatre, Portland Oregon
Kimball was known for its unusual manual configuration and stop layout. The middle keyboard was called the “solo” manual and the bottom keyboard the “accompaniment” manual. The top keyboard was called the “orchestral” manual and only had a few pipe stops. It featured all the tuned percussions and traps. Most organists consider this a waste of the top manual, and many restored Kimballs have had their stops respecified to the traditional Solo, Great, Accompaniment configuration.
