GSTOS – SUNNYBROOK IN THE FALL

Start the morning (09:30) by meeting up at the Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville PA for an open console with  the Theatre Organ Society of the Delaware Valley’s 3/24 Wurlitzer.

The Organ is a 3/24 Wurlitzer, Opus 585, donated to the TOSDV from the estate of a former GSTOS member, Roland Kurek. TOSDV restored and installed the instrument which originally was part of the Shea’s Theater, Buffalo, NY.

Note: If you are planning on taking advantage of this opportunity to play the 3/24 Wurlitzer, please let Cathy Martin know what time you intend to arrive, so that the TOSDV folks can arrange the open console times

11:30 – Travel to legendary Sunnybrook Ballroom, Pottstown, PA for a noon time lunch($32) with theatre organ music by Candi Carley Roth, followed by open console.

The Organ is a 3/14 U.S. Pipe Organ Company Theatre Pipe Organ built in 1928 and nicknamed “Ursula.” Very few, if any, other U.S. organs are still in existence. The last time GSTOS members had a chance to hear the instrument was at the 2015 Philadelphia/Delaware-based ATOS convention. For more information about this special instrument and its history go to our website gstos.org and click “Organs.” Sunnybrook website: https://thesunnybrook.com

The organ is in the Ballroom and we will be eating in the adjacent Charleston Room. Guests are welcome to this event. The cost for meal is ($24.95 plus 20% tip, and 6% tax) $32 per person. Make checks payable to GSTOS
